2 Bed Terraced House Conversion To 3 Bed – UK Full Renovation

This terraced house was a full renovation project. Our client wanted to increase this property from a 2 to a 3 bed home while still retaining the spacious feel of the house. They wanted to better utilise the huge master bedroom that originally dominated the floor space and to turn this house into a family home.

Works undertaken:

  • Our team removed the chimney breast from the loft down to the ground floor and inserted brackets to support the remaining chimney stacks
  • We raised dividing walls in the enormous master bedroom to create two 11sqm bedrooms and a bathroom
  • Add a window to the new bathroom for natural light and air flow
  • Install new waste pipes running the full length of the property to connect the new bathroom to the mains sewer pipe
  • We replaced all single glazed windows with new uPVC double glazed window units for improved energy efficiency
  • The team replaced both the front and back doors with new doors for improved security and draft elimination
  • The house needed a new fuse box and partial rewiring to meet the electrical standards required by law
  • We removed all the old, crumbling plaster and fitted plasterboard throughout with a skim top coat and matt finish
  • Our clients asked us to replace all internal doors with new doors shipped from Italy. We added a rubber trim for noise reduction
  • Our team installed a new P-shaped bath/shower, with shower screen, and a stylish towel radiator and wall hung basin
  • We added storage under the sink unit, and to finish we tiled the entire bathroom with a classic stone effect tile
  • Flooring: the bedroom and stairs were fully carpeted, and in the living and dining rooms we laid a beautiful walnut laminate flooring
  • We added in a discreet and useful cloakroom under the stairs
  • All old kitchen units were replaced with high gloss, white, handleless unit for a sleek, modern look
  • To contrast, we add a walnut worktop and grey subway tiles to complement the grey porcelain floor
  • In the garden we replaced the old cement floor. We skimmed the brick wall surrounding the garden and painted them a neutral grey. Finally, we added wooden raised flowerbeds to soften the look and add a splash of flora.
